It is also similar to how Abaddon another Space Marine took control of the Black Legion (Luna Wolves) (Sons of Horus) (Sauron of Horus)
Kovu is a successor chapter of the White Scars and is corrupted by Jesus a Scout Captain from Beast Hunters and is also trying to overthrow the Emperor in his younger days.
